Prince Botchway has spent 13 years working in schools, with the last several serving on senior leadership teams. At Emma Willard School, he serves as Head of Institutional Equity and Inclusion and recently stepped into an additional role as Interim Senior Advisor for Enrollment. Before Emma Willard, he spent three years at Millbrook School as Dean of DEIB and Associate Director of Admissions, where his work centered on strengthening enrollment strategy, expanding access, and helping build a more diverse and inclusive school community.
Because Prince has worked across strategy, admissions, equity and inclusion, student life, and senior leadership, he understands how the different parts of an institution connect, and what can happen when they do not. He brings that broader perspective to the schools, organizations, and leaders he partners with through Pathway to Better, helping them think more intentionally about people, culture, strategy, and sustainable growth.
Much of Prince's professional work has centered on building stronger, more inclusive communities. He is a certified SEED facilitator, holds a graduate certificate in diversity and inclusion from Cornell University, and has developed and led large-scale institutional programs and community experiences designed to bring people together around learning, belonging, leadership, and shared purpose. This includes founding the L.O.V.E. Summit, a collaborative gathering that brought educators and students from independent schools together across institutions. He is also completing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership.
Prince's work as a builder extends beyond schools. In 2015 he founded Royal Athletes, a youth development organization rooted in the belief that sports, movement, mentorship, and meaningful relationships can create opportunities for young people, and he continues to lead it today. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he joined four partners to co-found Little Stars Academy, an affordable childcare program for working families in Dumfries, Virginia, where he remains a co-owner and board member. He also chairs the Governance in Education Commission for the Albany Alliance of Black School Educators and serves on the board of the nonprofit 16 Lyrics.
Born in Accra, Ghana and raised in Prince George's County, Maryland, Prince brings both his personal experiences and professional background to all of the work he touches.
